New Flooring and Prepping Walls for Paint
We had chosen a medium-dark finish of bamboo flooring with a bit of distress to go throughout our home.
We wanted something that could hold up to our dogs and everyday life but had a warm look and feel.
Bamboo hit all the marks! It has held up great against the dogs and spills and is just the right shade that every strand of hair won’t stand out on.
I actually loved the chartreuse walls but we’ve had them forever and I was ready for a different color to play with.
Of course I have to paint swatches on ALL OF THE WALLS so I don’t miss any light or angles lol.
One of our four-leggeds wanted to test out the couch and oversee any work being done.
So this is where we are starting for next week. We already have flooring, walls painted, sectional, dining table I built below, and maybe a few more odds and ends that may or may not make the cut.
Upcycled Dining Table
I loved the legs of this table that used to be in my studio but it wasn’t the size I wanted, so I ripped the top off.
I added in more supports to hold the larger top that I built and attached.
It is just what I wanted!
Sometimes You Change Your Mind
I painted the brick fireplace white but it just isn’t what I want. So now there is another project on my to-do list!
And then there is this beam. I have been “trying” to strip it for months. It will look great when it’s done; I just don’t want to to it!
So Many Projects to Come…
Some of the projects I will be sharing over the next several weeks:
- making our media cabinet
- building a dry bar
- building and mounting mantle and floating shelves
- tiling fireplace
- and so much more!
I hope you follow along on this journey here or on Instagram. I could use some cheerleaders so I don’t run out of steam! @michellelymanstudios
